MINUTES
- Present: Simon Kempson, Sharon Overy, Marie Litson, James Durrance, George Farmer, Margaret Tough, Marilyn Baltutis, Tracey Fletcher (Poplar HARCA))
- Apologies were received from Andrew Hargreaves and Val Durrance
- Action Points from previous meeting:
- Transport Department proposals circulated
- Office Licence. TF feedback from talks with Inspector Adam Ridgewell and AJ Tohani (Market). AJ Tohani had written to the Off Licence and Inspector Ridgewell had been in touch also. No action can be taken. In the hands of the Off Licence. Youth workers doing outreach in the market area together with PCSOs.
- Action: TF to inform Chrisp Street partnership that cameras not working in the market
- Planned public meeting with Post Office managers postponed neither LBTH or TF have been able to get through to them.
- Action: TF to circulate telephone numbers of post office managers.

- NRF proposal for joint working on environmental services. TF feedback that the PAN Partnership are pursuing this as a pilot initially in LAP6 (i.e. Bromley-Lincoln & Mile End East) with a view to rolling out in LAP 7 (Lansbury, East India & Limehouse) next year.
- Discussed possible work on Bartlett Park adventure playground to extend opening hours. TF suggested including it in proposals for LAP7 funding.
- Action: TF to forward LAP7 chair's e-mail (Robert Ginn) to Simon Kempson.
- List of open spaces provided by Bailey Garner
- Action: Dog Fouling. TF to do - speak to Baily Garner and present ideas re separating dogs and children's spaces in green spaces.
- Action: TF still to investigate CCTV monitoring of this problem by HARCA.
- Trees for London. Andrew had been in touch with Trees for London and LBTH. They do have a tree map.
- Action: AH To get copy for next meeting. Andrew.
- Action: Chase Baily Garner on date re Street Furniture.
- Drains. LBTH has previously undertaken CCTV footage of drains and passed this on, however they do not have this information for Lansbury. At transfer, HARCA will jet wash drains and then produce their plans once they know what they are working with.
- Action: TF Chase information on drains and possible production of plan prior to transfer for sharing with residents.
- Heckford House. TF had spoken to Councillor Kevin Morton re his action on sorting the rubbish issue. Councillor had sent approx. 15 members enquiries.
- Action: TF to find out the officers dealing with this and possibly invite to future meeting!
- Security cameras. Technical Department and residents decide where cameras will go. Simon wants to meet with Andrew and Bailey Garner to see what else can be done.
- Webcam demonstration taking place on 3rd July consultation event.
- Sharing play areas with schools. Linc Centre developed Clara Grant playground and lease it back to them. Teviot Centre built on education land, so share internal and external parts of site. All sites dependent on extra staff to manage site outside of opening hours of centres, although Linc site has lights which go off at 9pm.
- Simon suggested joint working with schools for example for caretaker to open and leave open school site in the evening e.g. Mayflower school. Green area in front of Trinity Centre and other play areas - consider the whole of Lansbury - to be done as part of Bailey Garner work on open spaces.
- Noted that Rocky Park was proposed by Baily Garner for building on - questioned if this is possible given graves on the site.
- Action: Tracey to feedback on Extended School Hours Group at next meeting.
- Safer Routes to School. Tracey fed back about possible funding available from this initiative. Lead LBTH Officer has contacted Lansbury and surrounding area schools. Self help initiative - schools need be to take the lead. Mayflower has responded positively. Tracey meeting with John Rymell, lead officer to progress work.
- Ideas Document
- Hay Fever: Action: Simon to go on internet to get info on hayfever related issues and trees.
- Plants for wildlife: TF has spoken to Environment Trust. Terry Lyle is local officer. Action: TF to chase Terry Lyle.
- Street block names: Action: TF/AH To chase Baily Garner on a date.
- Street furniture: Action Baily Garner to come back with date and plan and budget.
- Green energy: TF feedback on Poplar HARCA's current work and developing strategies. Action: TF/AH to get date from Technical department.
- Opening adventure playground. TF fedback on discussions with LBTH and playground manager. Keen to have fence to divide off basketball area. TF proposed including this in NRF/LAP7 funding priorities. Action: TF to include in LAP7 list.
- Naming green areas: Residents can name these areas. To look at with green spaces item (page 8 of ideas document).
- Addressing of blocks: Action: TF/AH To chase Baily Garner. Possibly the post office can be involved in changing of addresses. (See above for contact details of post office managers.
- Deliveries: Simon expanded on the idea. To have a 'chute' like a coal bunker for each property (can only be for new build). Action: TF/AH to chase Baily Garner.
- Energy Audit. Noted this is happening.
- Building upwards. To be considered as part of masterplanning process.
- Waterproofing. Still to be considered by Baily Garner.
- Window boxes. Are there boxes which retain water, which do not fall on neighbours below? Can nails be fixed for hanging boxes when scaffolding is up for refurbishment work? TF mentioned hanging baskets project with local environment group. Action: TF to get information from local group.
- TV Reception. Audit to be done re what reception problems there are for each block. Action: Technical Department/ Baily Garner - date.
- Sparrows. Action: Baily Garner to consider in building plans - something to exclude pigeons - bird boxes in concrete.
- Pigeons. Any ideas welcomed including from Bailey Garner.
- Number of cars. TF feedback 59% of households in Lansbury/East India ward have cars. Gathered from census info. Action: TF to e-mail census info to Simon.
- Cycle paths. TF and AH had contacted Cycle officer. There is a cycle plan and potential to include cycle routes in the future. Any ideas can be directed to cycle officer who will consider their viability and add to the plan.
- Map of the area. At next meeting to have a large map of the area with all items highlighted e.g. benches, paths, cycle paths etc. Action: TF/Baily Garner
