Regeneration Update
28th September 2004
Some key developments over the past few months include:
Environment:
- Green spaces has been covered by the Masterplanners
- Dog fouling - a pilot Animal Warden/anti dog fouling strategy is being
implemented by Poplar HARCA at present
- Plans developed by Green Dreams (landscaping social enterprise
currently undertaking work on a HARCA green space on Lansbury) and
Graham Sutherland (masterplanner for Bartlett Park) are to be shared
with Baily Garner for possible ideas on separating green /play space
and areas for dogs. (See item below re report).
- Hay fever/wildlife - discussions have taken place with Ground Works
East London to support any developments in this area
- Play areas - at least one quick win on Ellesmere Street and ongoing
work through the Extended Out of School Hours group.
- Dividing off basketball area and play area in Bartlett Adventure Park.
General discussion for funding at LAP7 meeting in July. Quotes being
obtained forwork. Funding proposal should be processed in next
month.
- Bartlett Park. Friends of Bartlett Park have received the final
presentation of the work undertaken by Graham Sutherland on ideas

for Bartlett Park. We are still awaiting hard and electronic copies of the
report which will be forwarded to the Steering Group.
Housing
- Recycling - door knocking by LBTH on recycling on Lansbury to start
November (to introduce basic recycling).
Health
- Exercise/walking programme introduced through Healthy Lansbury
- Development of exercise circuit being considered in development of
Bartlett Park by Friends of BP.
Transport
- LAP7 Transport meeting planned for Thursday 30th September.
- Discussions held with John Rymmell re safer routes to schools and
roads around school sites.
- Bike parking has been raised for consideration in the development of
Chrisp Street Market by the Partnership.
